This website is an attempt to provide a stable forum where we can discuss electronics and microcontrollers and the things we create. There's also an area specifically dedicated to the content on the Savage///Circuits (https://savagecircuits.com/) website.
I have been mulling this over for a few weeks now. I had been enjoying the ZappBots forums (https://zappbots.altervista.org/forum/index.php) for a few years now, but the host (AlterVista) seems to be having some major issues which has resulted in the site being down more than it is up. I appreciate zappman trying to keep things going, but it seems to be an issue with the host.
By running SMF on my host (Skystra) with no themes or plug-ins, I can keep things simple and not have to worry about the issues I had in the past where almost the entire site was customized so much, that when there were updates or issues, it broke things. By keeping the forums separate, I have less to maintain as far as themes, etc.
Once this site is ready, it will be open to new member registration. with the ability to post attachments and polls. I'd really just like to be able to talk about electronics and microcontroller projects with others again and share information. It would also be nice to have a place to field questions on projects on my website without polluting the comments section.
This is still a work in progress. It will take some time for me to flesh out the details. It will either be successful or it won't. I tried to provide a robust set of forums for the things I wanted to provide a venue for without going overboard. I hope I am able to strike a balance of diversity to keep threads on topic, while keeping things as platform independent as possible to reduce the total number needed.
As always, a good subject line will help get attention on your thread, while providing details with help others to help you. 8)
Some of the threads are place-holders for old content still being restored to my website. So if you see something that doesn't look complete, it's probably intentional, since this is just a discussion forums. The content from my original website is still in a state of restoration and as I update each article, I will update the link between there and here. Thank you for your patience and I continue with this process.
