I have dozens of videos that need to be rendered and uploaded. I think I will start doing that on my lunch break at work so I can start getting things done.

I added a link to CoD: MW2019 and posted ~10 videos from my early playing of this version. I have about 20+ more videos to go through. Hopefully I got better as I played more. Most of these videos are from 2022.

While MW3 was my favorite, nobody plays anymore, so sitting in a lobby for 20 minutes at a time waiting for people to play isn't fun. I do have Black Ops 3 and 4. Never played either (yet).

Far cry is more fun when I am sick of cheaters and just want to play a single-player (campaign) game. It's a sandbox game, so I can do whatever I want. I like taking out the advanced outposts. This usually requires a lot of stealth and patience. If you're caught, they'll set off the alarm and you're really in the thick of it then. Much easier to sneak around and remove the enemies one at a time or, better yet, disable all the alarms, then wreak havoc!

I never really got into multiplayer, so no issues for me.

While I still have a chunk of videos to put up on the channel, as of yesterday, this Savage has officially retired from PC gaming, with the possible exception of solitaire and sudoku. Since I am currently rebuilding my RetroPie system, I will occasionally indulge in some old-school games like Mario Brothers or Zelda, but when it comes to PC gaming, I have uninstalled ALL my games. It's really two things that made the final decision...

My block list was getting just a little too large and quite frankly, my time is far more valuable these days. I have a lot of hobbies as well as a wife. Priorities just aren't the same anymore. I had already quit World of Warcraft months before we bought the new house. It was time to shed the rest.

  • I would occasionally indulge in a quick game, only to realize that it was dinnertime, bedtime or whatever, and I didn't finish something I meant to.
  • There are far too many cheaters in many of the games I play, making them just plain not fun to play anymore.

Honestly, I stick to singlenplayer stuff like Rollercoaster Tycoon, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim n Fallout, even Fallout 76 I have set up as private world.

I've never really been into gaming. My idea of great games is writing programs in BASIC, or other cool things like that.

While I've always enjoyed gaming, once it takes so much of your time, you start to question your priorities.

Video games like Call of Duty and even World of Warcraft used to be stress release to me. But now they're both sources of stress. I miss the days when my electronics hobby was my stress relief. Those were the days.

Yes, one of the advantages of being retired is that it is not too bad when gaming programming takes up a lot of time. :P

You, sir, may have inadvertently discovered a new reason why things are different for me now...

...when I used to do all this stuff before, I was either in my own business, or later, worked at Parallax. Ever since the stunt they pulled on me, I haven't had motivation to use their products. Which sucks, because I had used them for years before working there. The fact that the company is a mere shadow of it's former self and that forum participation is barely there, doesn't help things.

Perhaps after I finish my current project I will work more on my Z80 project to get my focus back.

It's kind of funny (sad) because that is the same time (and, actually the same reason) that I kind of gave up on much of Parallax's stuff - I also quit their forums, and I had several friends on there, too.

Yeah, I know I already posted this, but most of the people I used to talk to on there are long gone. Most haven't signed in since shortly after I was laid off. I tried to contact some. Many people have simply moved on and others don't have time. So many, I just don't know their status.

But, for as long as I have been back online, the list is very small. I miss helping them with their projects, sharing ideas, etc. Not that we're not doing that here. But before there was a virtual flood of new ideas, projects and conversation. There was a certain motivation to that. That has been stifled.

Ahh, yes. I remember that post. I just had no ideas at the time, and so did not comment.

Now that it has been an additional year-and-a-half, I can confidently suggest "alien abduction." ;D

While not an ideal outcome, it's better than the not knowing.  :-X

I don't know, did you ever see The Last Starfighter (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Starfighter (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Starfighter))? Alex did pretty well... Of course that was technically not an abduction, but his family/friends didn't know that.

Irony is not lost on me...a former coworker kept telling me about a new expansion coming out for World of Warcraft. I reminded him that I bought the last one and then quit playing before it went live. What a waste. He says, "Well right now they're doing this 'time running' even and I've been collecting all this cool stuff!"

Suffice it to say, he talked me into jumping into the event where I could create a completely new character just for the event and, optionally keep it after. It's actually quite fun. While running this event, he reminds me that my wife and I have completely different gaming interests and that this winter I will quickly get bored.

Dang it, Steve!  ::)

I used to be a big RPG gamer and got into the Ultima series. My favorite now is Final Fantasy XV but since they shut down the servers for it which dumbed it down I lost interest. I have also moved into the quick game mode and play mostly Microsoft's Solitaire. I do scarf up the weekly Epic freebies and if one catches my interest I'll actually play it for awhile.

Right now I'm using my limited free time getting into the Propeller 2. I agree with Chris that when I was into the Propeller 1 there was tons of literature, the forum was buzzing with creativity and a plethora of additional information. It was fun!!!! Now it is hard to find any helpful literature. The forums feel like a ghost town and a handful of elite posters that hold all the information but not sharing much. It is a bit frustrating. My biggest disappointment is with all the reshuffling of that forum most of the P1 treasures are lost!  The best treasure I found with the P1 are getting to know the people that are on this forum.

I got quite a bit of P1 docs on my computer.
