Title: It's National Computer Security Day
Post by: Chris Savage on Nov 30, 2024, 12:33 AM
Time to make sure your computer security is up to date. Update your passwords, two-factor authentication, etc.

Yeah, as the security pukes (and, as a Security Plus guy, I know) try to require... Enter any 75-digit prime number as your next password. And change it (literally) every 60 days (at one place I worked.)

The only way to have a perfectly secure computer (according to security) is to low-level format the hard drive, then dump the computer into the center of the Mariana Trench (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariana_Trench).

I hope you don't mind, I updated your link since, when I clicked it I got this:

No problem...looking back, it seems a "." crept into the URL. It happens. But while I knew what the Mariana Trench was, looking for the article was an interesting read. I learned more about it than I ever knew before. So, thanks for posting that.

P.S. - The only reason I mention my edits, is because the post shows up as "last edited by Chris Savage on...", and I don't know if that's something only I can see, or if everyone sees it. In the past, people had wondered why I edited their posts occasionally.  ;)

Nope, I see it too. I just never really look at that notice, so...
