1970, for me, the year I turned 10. :o I had a ham friend across the street from where I lived, and my mom had us practicing. When we were able to read some CW, she bought us a practice keyer from our local Radio Shack. Oh, how I wish that I still had that - keys are so expensive now a days.
lol me and projects.

Mine was 1995 because in the early 90s we all had CB radios. Then one of my friends got into Ham and needed help with some interface stuff. As I recall, the first thing he had me help him with was wiring a packet radio interface back in 1993. In any event, by 1995 I had told him that I was going to get my license, but instead I moved and just kept pushing the goal back. Never actually got it. Eventually, my project list was too big for it.
