The Savage///Circuits "virtual yard sale" is coming along nicely. I just need more photos. In the mean time, here's a preview of the "shop" page, which explains why it's not a "store."
Looks good, looking forward to browsing (and maybe buying. ;) )

Ok. Lol I was thinking on the avoiding that period. Lol
Well, I don't know if it's ready. I don't have much up, and what I do have up is missing some photos and other info. But until I can test things in practice, I won't be able to adjust things if needed. So, I'm going to go ahead and up MeBay (https://savagecircuits.com/shop/) up for access to the public. I'll add more as days go by. These are the things that are currently sorted out and ready to ship.
Remember, these things are being sold with funds being used to pay for this site. Most items are one-off. When they're gone, they're gone. And now for the most important part...
ALL PURCHASES REQUIRE REQUESTING A SHIPPING QUOTE. I'm not set up for automatic shipping charges. I'm honestly not even sure how to do that. So when you add stuff to your cart, you must then request a quote before you can fully check out. This also requires your address so I can get an accurate quote. I need to update the shop page to reflect that, as I'm sure some people will be confused.

Could I purchase a mug, and pick it up at the Meetup, next month?

Yes, but the way things are set up, you still have to request a shipping quote, just fill out the special delivery instructions with pickup at the meetup and I will set the shipping to $0.00

You should be able to go back now and complete the transaction. Please let me know if it works. I don't really like the way this system works these days.

I went back to the page (I had left it open) and there was nothing to say continue. Next, I refreshed the page, and the only thing that it did was to throw away my phone number, and to check the box that says "Ship to a different address?" Still nothing to let me continue to complete the purchase.
Is this a new shopping cart that you installed in your site? If so, maybe you could consider ZenCart. I had that many years ago, and it let me accept payment from several different forms (I used PayPal mostly) and I could also integrate shipping modules from USPS, UPS and Fed Ex (as far as I remember, although USPS is definite.)

So, you didn't get an email telling you that your shipping quote was ready?
When you refreshed the page, it was still asking for you to request the quote?
EDIT: I realized, it won't LET me use $0.00, I had to make it $0.01 to save.

The site is WordPress-based and the theme supports extensions to WooCommerce, so I just used that, which I used on my old site years ago. The difference now is that the shipping part is done differently. While the "store" is free, the required plug-ins to handle shipping stuff cost money and must be subscribed to. That didn't used to be the case.
The only FREE shipping plug-ins either require you to offer FREE shipping or Flat-Rate shipping, which can vary greatly with the size / weight of the package. So anything that calculates shipping costs money. Not only that, but when you do flat-rate, you can't account for someone ordering more than one thing at the same time. Either you're charging the same shipping per item, or you're charging one fee for everything, no matter how big or heavy.
The only way I could think of getting around it was to provide a custom quote for each order. I will take a look at the software you mentioned, but as this isn't a money-maker for me, I was hoping to do it FREE, which is it currently costing me $49/year.
The problem hasn't been the
OK, I did get the email - in fact I got two. The first two showed $0.00 shipping fee, but when I clicked on the "Complete order" link in the first one, the web page said that it was unable to complete the order. So, I closed all of the Savage///Circuits pages, and clicked the link in the third email (it said $0.01 shipping.) This time it let me go to PayPal, and showed "Order Received." After that I got another email saying that the order was received, and was being processed. So, it seems to have worked - although I won't know for certain until I receive the mug at our Meetup. ;D

"Silly Granz, mugs are for kids!" Sorry, Trix! ;D
Taking another look at the email, it says:
QuoteSorry, your order was unsuccessful
Hi Art,
Unfortunately, we couldn't complete your order due to an issue with your payment method.
I used PayPal, and my browser recognized me so I did not need to log in - I.E. it is the same credentials as with several other successful purchases.

I actually got both emails and both orders show up in the system. First one says unsuccessful (with $0.00 shipping), the next one says completed (with $0.01 shipping). Seems like I can't set $0.00 shipping. But I think I can add an option for free shipping. I really need to figure this out.
