It's that time again...all hail the Turing test!
I can't believe that I let this pass last year. There were several articles on building your own Turing Machine (computer.)
- Byte Magazine, Dec 1976 (https://dn790003.ca.archive.org/0/items/byte-magazine-1976-12/1976_12_BYTE_00-16_Machine_Readable_Print.pdf) an article on building your own.
- Byte Magazine, Dec 1981 (https://ia801308.us.archive.org/24/items/byte-magazine-1981-04/1981_04_BYTE_06-04_Future_Computers.pdf) another article on building your own. This article includes an emulator for the HeathKit ET-3400 (https://www.computinghistory.org.uk/det/44383/Heathkit-ET-3400-Trainer/)
- Byte Magazine, Apr 1981 (https://vintageapple.org/byte/pdf/197812_Byte_Magazine_Vol_03-12_Life_with_Your_Computer.pdf) this is an article on an emulator for the Turing Machine written in Motorola M6800 assembly language.
I'm certain that there were others, but these are the ones that I remember from my reading of Byte, back in the 1970s & -80s.
