Back in BC (Before Carly) HP was a force to be reckoned with. They produced some great test equipment, and even their entry into computers was great. Now, they are a sad shadow of their former selves; clearly a case against DEI (Didn't Earn It.)

In the picture shown above the "HP then" and the "HP now" is 100% accurate.

If you need a piece of test equipment the picture shown below is also 100% accurate.

I am trying to install Windows 10 on an HP laptop that my pastor had. The thing just suddenly lost EVERYTHING on the hard drive! Now, it does have Intel RST (Rapid Storage Technology for RAID - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Rapid_Storage_Technology) which is making it so that the Windows (and even Linux) installer cannot even see the drive. HP's support site says to go into BIOS and disable it to install Windows - nope! There is no option to disable RST. I even tried to get the Recovery media from HP. Again, nope! You have to get to an HP Cloud Recovery tool - BUT ONLY ON A WINDOWS MACHINE! So, I asked my oldest son, who does run Win, to get it. When he downloaded the Recovery Windows program it says that he must run it as Admin - which he already did (he is by profession an IT guy, and knows about that.) He tried it twice, and both times it said that he needed to run it as Admin, when he already did that! Arrgghhhh! I hate Micro$oft, and their crappy hardware partners-in-crime.

I tried to help our local library reset a Dell PC that two former employees had the password to. It should've been as simple as rebooting the PC and selecting F8 to get to the troubleshooting menu. Sadly, I could get to the Setup Menu (F2) and the Boot Menu (F12), but F8 would not work. Windows 11 PC.  :-[
