They had these orig $7 acrylic laptop stands at work, now like $2, clear black and clear orange, too weak to hold my laptop, not sure about those old ones, but works as my tablet holder and in this photo, my PDB at an adjustable angle, and the LED is well... lol not too helpful other then under the board. I kinda like the idea of what I'm working on being angled to make it easier to see.

Nice, I still like the Parallax (P)PDBs; they are packed with a nice selection of components.

I see what you mean - I didn't know that the serial port was at the bottom of the board. On the Propeller version, the serial port is on the left side, at the bottom.

If you look on left side there's 2-9 pin serial port opposite each other. Top is the programming port, bottom is on you can add to your project.

Auto-corrupt is my worst enema. ::) I always turn that demon off.

Marilyn reminded me, last night, that her first phone's auto-corrupt would not allow her to tell someone "good night." It took her a while to realize that her phone (actually that auto-corrupt demon) was changing that "good night" to something else - she was unable to say "good night" to anyone.  >:(

Nice stand. Where did you buy it from?

In my case, big fingers, small screen..

From Kroger, where I work, I was in the Back-to-School section. Kinda cheap, but hopefully will serve its purpose.

I tend to use Voice-to-text, however, since they added the AI, it's not just a problem with auto-clobber anymore. Now the AI tries to change the entire scope of what I am saying sometimes.

Tried that once, then it started screwing up... lol

That's my point. Lately it makes changes to entire sentences, not just a single word. When I was first dating Valerie, I once sent her a message where I said, "I can't wait to come and see you." When you use the voice-to-text there's a slight delay before it makes any changes as the data is sent to the server and a response is returned. This usually happens for me as I am pressing the send button!

I'm not going to tell you what it sent. Suffice it to say, it was quite inappropriate! I immediately responded with, "THAT'S NOT WHAT I SAID!!!" Good thing she has a sense of humor. Once the shock wore off we both had a laugh. But that could just as easily been a message to my mother.  :o

ROTF, funny but not at same time. I turn that crap off first thing on new devices.

Based on our discussion on AI (https://savagechats.com/index.php?topic=415 (https://savagechats.com/index.php?topic=415),) and this conversation, I have (considerably) less than NO interest in using AI to aid my communications (at least not on my end.)

As a former Security+ (https://www.comptia.org/en-us/certifications/security/) specialist, I cannot accept sending my personal stuff (voice) off to the cloud (someone else's computer,) not even to convert voice-to-text.

I don't like AI at all... I see fake videos on Jokebook ALL THE TIME...  And it's amazing on one hand, how real it can look, but also you got crap on it, that is ridiculessly easy to spot, such as on one video, a "landslide" covering a roadway over a tunnel, and cars just keep on driving into it, showing the "landslide" is just as real as this "Free Energy" BS...

Yeah, fake video:
This video is pretty clearly an AI fake, but unfortunately, the AI are getting better all the time. I've heard of AI fake videos being used to get people in trouble ("DeepFake" https://www.isba.org/sections/ai/newsletter/2025/03/deepfakesinthecourtroomproblemsandsolutions.)

That's the WORST one I've ever seen...

Yeah, actually it's compilation of several different videos that I have seen.

But the scary part is that there are videos that look so real, that you almost cannot (or actually cannot) tell that they are fakes. That is going to destroy credibility.

I can see some uses, such as that last Indiana Jones movie vs trying to make Harrison Ford look young again, but there are definitely places it DOESN'T need to be!!
