I decided to do teardown photos of my EEVBlog DMMs the BM235, 121GW, and BM786.

EEVBlog BM235, 121GW, and BM786 digital multimeters.

Here's links to all 3 for general specs on them.

Easy access batteries and dual fuses, don't need to take apart to access them.

Not too much to say, can be taken apart easy to clean if needed.

Easy to access batteries and dual fuses.

I couldn't get the PCB out, I think the control knob is keeping it from coming out.  I tried to remove the knob, but couldn't and wasn't going to force it, and risk breaking it. Esp since it's not a cheap meter, well to me anyhow.  I like the option to connect via Bluetooth to PC or Android, IOS I am not sure about since I don't have one. but there is a nice 3rd party Android app that can also control the meter's functions, along with a graph function, a little like an OScope.  Only thing missing here is an EF function to use to detect AC wiring wirelessly, like the other 2 have, which would be nice if one needed it.

Again, I couldn't get the PCB out, but here is a shot of what I could get.  The batteries are in a pull-out cartridge. Gotta take it apart to access both fuses, so there's that.

The all 3 meters have good functions and are built robust, video below, the EF function has a High Voltage and Low Voltage range, which even for looking for general wiring in a house, can give location of the wiring. All 3 can do temp with the probe that comes with them, and the ability to plug into banana plugs with the screw on adapters that go on the tips, again included. 121GW and BM325, but not the BM786.

I know some of us don't like Dave, but about 15 min in, he puts the BM235 and 121GW along with your typical VERY cheap $5 DMM.  Both of the EEVBLog meters survive just fine with no issues after.  Can't say same for the $5 meter.  Since the BM786 wasn't around yet I think, obviously wasn't testes.  I love all 3 meters, and since recent months an upgraded BM235 has been issued, the BM2257.

I admit that I'm not a fan. It's mostly his voice that for whatever reason grates on my ears. Some people have commented how stupid that is, but I can't help that some voices just grate on my nerves. I also used to listen to, The Amp Hour, where he co-hosted with Chris Gammell. On a few episodes he made comments about things where he was ill-informed.

Everyone can be a bit opinionated, I guess. But to talk trash about things you don't know anything about just steps on a nerve with me. I learned a long time ago not to argue things that I am not well-informed on. Your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on if you're not in the know.

I'm glad you like the meters though. I am assuming they were a good deal and probably less expensive than a Fluke?

I'm only responsible for what I say, not what you understand.

I can see your point. Should be well informed or atleast make comments stating unless otherwise shown wrong.
