I was talking to my friend Jim and he mentioned California bill AB 2047 which puts massive restrictions on using, buying and selling 3D printers. @Chris Savage - New York is looking at a similar bill.
@granz - the bill states you can be fined for selling or giving away non-compliant 3D printers!
At the end of the video the host said this could be the stepping stone to control other items such as computers.
Very scary! I may just not want to get into 3D printing if Big brother controls it.

This reminds me of drones...when consumer drones came out, I waited until they were well refined before getting into them, and then I bought two. Almost immediately after I got them, they put restrictions on them and started requiring registration and a license, etc. I hardly touch them anymore.
The 3D printer thing is because some people have 3D printed handguns, but the thing is, the registered part of these guns can't really be 3D printed, at least not on consumer-level 3D Printers. It's all getting too big brother these days. As I recall, the government is trying to force automotive manufacturers to install kill switches in vehicles. Then again, they're trying to restrict our right to vote too, so...
I often say that I love my country, but I abhor what my government is doing to my country.
