I cannot tell a lie...that is absolutely true. And, I have some cables that seem ambiguous to which side is up. I usually have to try them multiple times to get it right.

I gotta usb drive with USB A and it was either micro a or b not sure which. Both on same connector. lol

I have two of those on external USB drives. Each has an extra version of the cable with the same 3.0 end, but one is a USB (as shown) and the other has a USB-C end. Ironically, "Thunderbolt" ports on HP computers are compatible with USB-C, but I am unclear if the drive / cable supports the increased bandwidth.
