When I looked into having it black topped a couple of years ago it would've cost 6000 or 12000 for concrete. I spent 700 instead for new gravel.

We had to weigh this same choice. Our driveway cost $11,900 for the asphalt.

WOW!..... I need my electric in my house redone.  Sadly, gotta figure out HOW to afford it....

Today, 1/25/2026 10:00am, the snow is back, so far about 6 inches, mixed with sleet and freezing rain.

And, the "mixed stuff" is still going to come down for another 12 hours.

But, the real problem is the temperature is 14 degrees and it is not going to get above 32 degrees for over a week.

We have several inches, but it is mostly light and fluffy. It should be no trouble to shovel. Our Church cancelled service, but Don, our worship leader (also one of our deacons, and a good friend of mine) lives in the parsonage, attached to our church. He will go downstairs and fire up the A/V system, and one of the tech guys will remote in and start the Internet broadcast so Don can lead a service and give a sermon. A true one-man-show.

County says, "No unnecessary travel." No state goverment has ever ruled church is unnecessary. The apostle Paul said, "Let every man be convinced in his own mind." GBC is open this AM for whoever wants to come! Drive safely!

You got a bit more snow than we have so far, but the temp here is 11° with a wind chill of 0°! I don't want to be a frozen turkey today. Nor do I want to die on the road from someone who can't drive in the winter here in NY.
