Ham Radio is split into different bands or ranges of frequencies. These bands usually have a custom antennas that are tuned to that range of frequencies. Here are the main bands:

160 Meters (1.8-2.0 MHz)
80 Meters (3.5-4.0 MHz)
60 Meters (5 MHz channels)
40 Meters (7.0-7.3 MHz)       <----------- This is the one referenced in the meme.
30 Meters (10.1-10.15 MHz)
20 Meters (14.0-14.35 MHz)
17 Meters (18.068-18.168 MHz)

...and so on...

Well explained, looks like you are also a Ham. (or Ham wanna be?) I'm on the "wanna be" side, even though I should have gone ahead and gotten my license back in the early 1970s when I was decent at CW (continuous wave - where you use Morse Code.)

Back when I was stationed at Mountain Home AFB, in Idaho, I discovered that the radios we used on our bombing range used frequencies that my personal Ham radio used, so I took that with me to use on the range. Sadly, even though I had a radio, I just never went ahead and took the test.  :-[

I'm from that generation in the 80s that really got into CB Radio. Everyone that used to be into it with me, got into Ham Radio, while I got into electronics, microcontrollers and early computers. However, I was the guy they would all run to when they needed a custom solution for their Ham Radio rigs. One of my first projects was helping a buddy with a Packet Radio interface.

All my friends / colleagues that are into Ham Radio have custom license plates with their call sign. The guy I know who has been into it the longest lives in Schenectady and is registered as N2UZQ. I don't really remember all the others, but a follower on Twitter for example is KV5SIX, an Army Vet who lives in TX.

But, alas, I just never had the time for Ham Radio. I don't have the time for all the things I am into now... :-[

Definitely describes my life - especially over the past several years.
