August Smart Lock

If anyone has an August Smart Lock, I'd love to hear about your experiences. As a former Smart Home consultant, I am very fluent with Smart Home Technology. That said, it was a long time before I installed my August Smart Lock because I had been using a Kwikset Keypad Lock for several years.

When I finally did install the August Smart Lock, it worked great for about 1 year, then suddenly I was having issues with the "connect" module staying connected to my Wi-Fi. It was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. I went through all the typical troubleshooting procedures, but the problem persists to this day. Sometimes it will remain offline for days, then randomly reconnect and then disconnect a short while later.

The problem is very annoying and I am disinclined to purchase another August product now. Ironically, while looking for troubleshooting information, I see they're now selling a Wi-Fi version. Sadly, the version I have requires you to use their "connect hub" between the lock and your Wi-Fi.

The connect module is where the failure seems to be, but of course it is out of warranty and I am averse to buying a replacement of a product that fails just after the warranty period.
