I've worked at places where people got their position based on false merit. Imagine working for a company whose lead electrician doesn't know his job and asks maintenance how to do certain things. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, he then turns around and tells his manager that he solved the issue on his own. This guy burned me three times before I just let him hang himself.

I hate people like that... sounds like they deserved it.

Sadly, I think he's still there.

Once he was having trouble figuring out why an exhaust fan wasn't working and asked for my help. When we got to the Control Box, he asked if I had a screwdriver, so I pulled one out. Before I could react, this idiot pulled out a hammer and hit the end of the screwdriver, using the screwdriver as a punch of bend a piece of metal that was bent in the way. He broke the handle on my screwdriver! I was pissed! I had punches and chisels in my roll-around toolbox, which I had right there!!! Not so much as an apology for breaking my tool. This is why I generally refuse to loan my tools at work. I had the correct tool, but he chose to abuse one of my tools for the wrong purpose.  >:(

I use my own tools like that, but NEVER anyone else's tools.
