Previously, there was discussion of an itinerary, to add some structure to the event. I remember discussion about presentations of current projects. Have we given any further thoughts to this? My thoughts are that the first hour (12-1) should be to just catch up and chat (eat lunch?). Maybe have someone do some presentation at 1P. Not sure how long each block should be.

Well, that's why I've been trying to get us to discuss it. In the wake of the previous meetup we were talking about how we only talked about our projects with just a couple of people and our conversations were mostly compartmentalized. We discussed having a little structure this time so everyone would have a chance to share with everyone else what we're working on, where we're at and about possible future project ideas.

I will give some thought to it myself and post again with some ideas. We're almost there already, so I was hoping to have something in place.

Yeah, talking about projects in process is a good one. I will definitely be doing that whereas I don't post much on here about certain projects that aren't completed.

I wanted to float an idea for our upcoming get-together and see if there would be any interest.

If we end up doing short presentations on things everyone has been working on, I'd be interested in showing some of the embedded/electronics projects I've been developing and, in particular, how I've been using AI as part of the development process.

I know AI can be a somewhat controversial subject, especially among programmers and other technical people, so I'm not looking to turn it into an "AI is going to replace everything" kind of presentation. Quite the opposite.

What I thought might be interesting is showing some real-world examples of how I've been using it alongside my existing programming and electronics experience — things like working through embedded C/C++, ESP32 projects, hardware design decisions, debugging, communications protocols, PCB-related work, and bouncing engineering ideas back and forth.

For me it has become much more of an interactive engineering/development tool than simply something that generates code.

If there's any interest, I'd be happy to put together a short presentation and show some actual examples of what I've been doing with it. If nobody is particularly interested, that's fine too. I just wanted to float the idea before putting something together.

I don't really like the bad stuff that AI has become known for. Saying that, I would like to see what you are doing/have done with it. How long would you think that you would need for a quick presentation/demo?

I'm thinking 30-45 minutes would be enough. I can make it shorter if there is time constraints.

I also think I can bring a HD projector for us all to use if there is a screen there. I even have a smaller portable screen I can bring. I'll have to check on the status of the projector to be sure. It hasn't been ran in years.

This is inline with what I was thinking. That starting at 1P we could take turns on the hour doing our presentations and have the remainder of the hour as a break in between. This would work well now since there are only 4 or us presenting anyway. If things grow in the future, we can make adjustments as needed.

@Jim Fouch , are you volunteering to go first at 1P?

@Jim Fouch I'd be interested. I've been using AI with Logisim and got some interesting results, and going down bunny trails, that I would also like to share.
