My guess is the tube connecting them is weak, and broke, cause the only thing NOT encased in plastic was the nozzle tip and the heatsink....

Well, it does appear that those tubes between the heat block and the heatsink are weak, as I saw a post on FB where a guys tube got bent somehow hitting the poop chute.... I did find this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FXWVD34Z on Amazon, couple hot ends, with cleaning stuff, tools, nozzles, in 3 or 4 diff sizes for about $28, not bad.  I also got this off that same FB group post about this https://store.micro-swiss.com/products/flowtech-hotend-for-elegoo-centauri-carbon?variant=43053479362627 VERY much higher cost Vs Amazon or Elegoo, but UPGRADED and STRONGER, so maybe sometime in the future, for now, Amazon replacements, I advice you pick one up as well @granz since they can be brittle...
