Well, I just registered for my exhibitor's table, and reserved my room for Tandy Assembly 2024. This is in Springfield, OH (hey Joe, isn't that kind of close to you?)

My presentation will be showing off my collection of all four Model T systems (100, 102, 200 & 600.) The 600 has recently been on the workbench, and except for the battery (of course) and only having the stock 32K of RAM  :o , it is in working shape. It did have some troubles logging on to BBS computers and Mickey (telnet:mickey.publicvm.com then ctrl-J and ctrl-m until you get a login prompt. Type: HEL-T001,HP2000,1) It seemed to keep corrupting the connection, but I didn't have a chance to troubleshoot whether it was the WiFi modem, or the 600.

The other Model Ts are still in their moving boxes, and will need to be checked. If I recall correctly, one of them is missing a key or two, and one of them might not power up. But I hope to get them working. I may also bring a Raspberry Pi Zero W with a USB serial cable, and set it up to log in serially so that the Model Ts can get a shell account for internet connection.

More as it comes up...

That is about 1.5 hours west of me.  Could be fun. When?

It's on the last weekend of September, this year (although, looking over previous assemblies, it looks like it's always the last weekend of Sept.) Tandy Assembly is held at the Courtyard by Marriott Springfield Downtown in Springfield, OH. I've reserved a room for Friday, and Saturday, nights for myself and my son, and it was only $326 - pretty good for a Marriott. (BTW, you'll want to reserve a room early if you want one, some of them are already gone.  :o ) The tickets are only $10 per attendee for Saturday and Sunday (children 12 and under are free.)

There are some tech-specific presentations on Fri for a bit more, but we won't be able to make it that early.

All of the write-ups from previous shows look pretty cool.

Well, I am here. We (my oldest son, and I) arrived at the Courtyard Suits, in downtown Springfield. The drive was pretty much rain the entire way, but it was never horrible downpour. On the way, we stopped in Columbus at Schmidt's - a really great German restaurant. If you get near Columbus, give it a try, they have great sausage (said my son,) and the Reuben sandwich that I had was probably the best I've ever had.

I had thought that we would not be able to get started until this morning, but everyone was already setting up last night. So, Art (my son) and I took our stuff and put it on our table. I forgot so much stuff (even when we stopped at Walmart to get stuff that I had forgotten, I forgot, >:( ) that I didn't get finished with my display until 10:30 last night (bedtime is 9:00. :o ) Anyway, I'm now getting ready to head down to the conference room.

More details, and photos, to come...
