1970, for me, the year I turned 10.  I had a ham friend across the street from where I lived, and my mom had us practicing. When we were able to read some CW, she bought us a practice keyer from our local Radio Shack. Oh, how I wish that I still had that - keys are so expensive now a days.

Mine was 1995 because in the early 90s we all had CB radios. Then one of my friends got into Ham and needed help with some interface stuff. As I recall, the first thing he had me help him with was wiring a packet radio interface back in 1993. In any event, by 1995 I had told him that I was going to get my license, but instead I moved and just kept pushing the goal back. Never actually got it. Eventually, my project list was too big for it.
