This is a preview of a product that will be going up on the website shop when I get it up and running. I have a number of mugs that I had designed and purchased a few years ago. I've been saving them to post on the website. The idea was to sell them to pay for the site hosting and domain fees.

I'll follow up here once I get the website finished from the conversion. I had a store on the older website at the very end, but haven't enabled it on this new site for a great many reasons. While I don't like the new theme template, I will soon be enabling the shop and the first, and initially only product on there, will be the mug.

As a note, for people like myself I am trying to make the images and text larger on the main website.

It does that, because otherwise it ends up charging double shipping when you buy more than one of something.

When I was running my own store, I used Zen Cart (https://www.zen-cart.com/.) It would total up the weight of the products, and then connect to the USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, etc. servers and calculate the price for the entire order. It might be more than you want for your MyBay type selling, but it's worth checking out.

It would total up the weight of the products, and then connect to the USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, etc. servers and calculate the price for the entire order. It might be more than you want for your MyBay type selling, but it's worth checking out.

Here's what is happening...maybe this other option will work, I don't know yet...

On my old website, I used Woocommerce to sell the same kind of things I am selling now. But they've changed things over the years. At the time, if someone bought a single item, the system already knew what size box it took to ship that item and how much it weighed. That's the still the case. But when someone ordered multiple items, it would add the shipping and charge them, but when I shipped the items, I was able to refund the overcharge for shipping.

Currently, I can specify the package dimensions, weight and cost, but then if they order two or more items, one of two things happens. Either it undercharges shipping (because it doesn't know what size box hold these items) or if I specify fixed shipping per item, it adds the individual shipping amounts and overcharges for shipping.

How do you get it to charge the right shipping if you don't know the box size prior to shipping? That's where I am hung up! If I use flat-rate boxes, then I am overcharging because most of what I have are ICs and sensors that weigh practically nothing.

Ideas? I suppose to some this may seem trivial. But to me, it seems irrational, so I told it to request a shipping quote every time, however, that seems to confuse everyone. Even you had issues with it, @granz

Yes, I remember that your store could not comprehend "local pickup."  So, it had to charge me one cent for shipping - I guess that's how much it cost for you to put it in your car?

Well, first I didn't see an order in the system last night. I thought maybe there was a delay. I just got home and saw there was an update to the plug-ins for the site. I updated them.

ALL PURCHASES REQUIRE REQUESTING A SHIPPING QUOTE. I'm not set up for automatic shipping charges. I'm honestly not even sure how to do that. So when you add stuff to your cart, you must then request a quote before you can fully check out. This also requires your address so I can get an accurate quote. I need to update the shop page to reflect that, as I'm sure some people will be confused.

Try again, requesting a quote and I will return a quote, which should then allow you to complete the purchase. If for some reason that doesn't work, I will simply send them to you and you can send me payment via PayPal outside the system. I am watching some videos on how to set this up better. Sorry for your experience.
