Last night I won an eBay auction for a Bondwell B200 laptop.

Unfortunately it does not come with any manuals, and I have been unable to find any on-line.

As far as the basic operation, I have been using PCs since the mid 1980s, and will have no troubles with that part. I am looking for B200-specific information like the "Reverse Video" switch on the back, what software came with the laptop - things like that.

Does anyone have any links to any of the B200 manuals, or have any paper versions that I could get for cheap?

Chris Savage

If I come across them, I will link to you. I see you already posted here.

Yeah, I've been on Vintage Computer Federation longer than I've been on most other boards.

When I clicked on your link, I noticed that the screen on the laptop looks like it's badly listing to the port side.  :o I think that this is just a distortion from the angle of the camera. We'll see when it arrives.  ;)

Link to a website with info on using the B200 including:
  • Iomega ZIP100 as an External Hard Drive
  • Network / Internet interfacing
  • Software and Drivers (mouse, keyboard, floppy drives)

Joe, thanks, but that is for the Z-80 based CP/M Bondwell Model 2 - I have been searching for one of those laptops for many years. Maybe some day I'll be able to use that manual.

Thanks Zapp, I had seen that, but had not downloaded it yet. That is now corrected.

Again, thanks. That German Google site would not let me download the issue (or, more likely, I could not figure out how to do that as I don't read German and told Google Translate not to bother.  ::) ) I found the issue, and now have it on my hard drive.

I had seen that site, and it is pretty good. I wish that the guy had done a better job of lighting the laptop screen - throughout most of the video much of the screen was totally unreadable. But, still lots of good stuff. One important thing that I had never seen was the warning to not keep the disk in the A: drive on boot up. He claims that it messes up the disk, but I've seen other people leave the DOS boot disk in drive A: all the time. :-\

Yep, and thanks again for the manual. Like I said, I hope to be able to use that one some day.
