There is, of course, a project related to the 3D shim for the LED Sign Base. I am hoping tonight to have the project posted along with a video (Short Circuits) covering this. Then I will add the 3D model to Maker World.

I'm going to wrap the 3D Shim project (video) tonight. In the meantime, I printed this last night while I was at work.

These print in a sheet just like this, with snap-off parts.

They seem to have come out pretty good. Can't wait to try them in some of my PLC cabinets.

What do these things do? They look a little like the cable tie downs that have a sticky base, and you run zip ties through them to hold the cable to whatever you stick the base to.

That's exactly what they are, except these use a countersunk screw to mount them instead of sticky-tape, and I can print them, 35 at a time.  ;)

Nice.

If you run across a place where you cannot/do not want to screw them in, you can use the Foam Mounting Tape from Dollar Tree:

Ironically, all of the ones I have used to now had Scotch / 3M sticky tape, but somehow managed to come off the powder-coated panels anyway. Wouldn't it be ironic if the Dollar Tree product actually stuck better.  :P

Hah, yeah. That would be funny. Although, at a buck-and-a-quarter, it's worth trying.  ;)

You'd think 3M would be good... anytime I get the led strips, they don't stick well.

See? It's not just me. I expect MORE from 3M. I have 3M double-sided stickies on some drone stuff, sports camera mounts and even a dash camera and they're ALL less than reliable.

By the way, I finally printed the parts for another project.  ;)
