Wow, 18um resolution in the XY directions is crazy precise. Nice.

Compared to FDM printers I have, it looks insane alright. lol

Yeah, that would be 0.018 mm, and my Neptune 2 gives 0.1 mm resolution. That Mars Ultro 4 gives over 5 times finer prints. Nice.

Among other great specs like the printing speed.

I didn't even notice the speed.

Quote
  • 7-inch 9K mono LCD
  • 8520x4320 resolution
  • Up to 150mm/h
  • High-Speed Wifi Transfer
  • Powerful Linux OS
  • 4-point leveling system
  • Build volume of 153.36x77.76x165 mm³
Up to 150mm/h?!?! Yikes! Something is rotten in printer-ville. To print at only 15 cm (about 6 inches) in an hour is useless.

There must have been some kind of misprint. What is the "real" print speed?

JKnightandKARR

Well it says it takes 1.5-2 sec for each layer since uv light is involved. Compared to FDM that seams really fast.

Hmmm, yeah, those resin printers do not actually move a filament head, so that kind of speed would be meaningless.

When are you supposed to receive it? I would be interested in a comparison between the two printers printing the same thing (maybe a benchy.) How does the speed compare? Is the much smaller resolution really that much nicer? How much does it cost for the resin versus for the filament? Although at less than $200 for the resin printer, that may not be so important. However, I do like the size of my Neptune 2.  8)

A remember watching a very well-done video explaining / showing how resin printers work and I found it quite intriguing. Now I can't seem to find that video.  :-\

Isn't that how it works? That and 10mm sockets... lol

Well, I got the printer today, post processing, tomarrow, anyhow, there's 4 diff slicers on the included flash drive, interestingly, there's a USB port in front, probly just for loarding files, or with the built in WIFI option.

So, no cable. No resin, so I have to get some, but it has a range of tools/accessories, including an air purifier that plugs into the top.  Gotta read the manual, not too big, just gotta figure it out, might take alittle bit...

Reason is, bad news, my 17yr old pup Gizmo, might be E.O.L.... heart murmur, dehydrated, arthritis, and well, on meds now for kidney failure, so kinda off my normal mindset... We are hoping and praying to God that Gizmo will make some kinds recovery.

Anyhow, I loaded the included Rook file into both of my slicers, Mars 4 Ultra set to 0.05mm layers and Neptune 0.06mm, estimated print times:
Mars 4 Ultra: 2h, 33min vs. Neptune: 6hr, 11min, so quite a bit different. The model dimensions are: 29.86mm x 29.80mm x 50mm. The resins appear to be comparable to FDM printer spools.

Photos to come.

Sorry to hear about Gizmo's poor health. It's rough when a loved pet dies - I remember when our dog, Hines (named after my daughter's favorite football player,) died - rough time at our house. After our daughter moved out, my wife took over care for Hines, and he was her pet - she had an especially rough day.
